Here are the details on five new buildings planned for Detroit’s Corktown

Finding a place to live in Detroit’s historic Corktown neighborhood has long been difficult, with vacancies few and far between, but a massive construction project that broke ground this week could help expand the housing supply.

Construction of five new buildings, plus the renovation of the old Checker Cab building on Trumbull Avenue near the Tiger Stadium site, will add 420 residential units on 4.5 acres off Elizabeth and Eighth streets.
