Soave Managers Join Together for Companywide Conclave
From across the regions and country, Soave
Enterprises’ management team members gathered in
the conference area at Detroit’s CITY Sports Arena.
Real estate professionals mingled with steel industry
leaders. Beer distributors enjoyed an ice cold Bud
alongside automobile dealers. In contrast to the
relaxed atmosphere, this late June event had a very
serious purpose.
The managers came together to discuss and educate themselves on the many facets of the current Soave business portfolio. The meeting’s theme: “What makes us different makes us better.”
Prior to this landmark meeting, many of these individuals and their limited companies had contact with one another as each operates largely independently of the other. This first official gathering provided an occasion for managers to identify unifying features, and compare challenges and opportunities. Participants learned about the company’s four primary industry groups, Soave’s investment philosophy, corporate administration, and participated in several question and answer periods.
The manager’s feedback was extremely positive and the majority found the chance to meet their peers invigorating. Anthony Soave took great pride in seeing the team together in one place. “I am always telling people what a talented group of managers we have across our portfolio. It’s great they got to see it for themselves.”
Checker Sedan Teams with Leader Dogs for the Blind
Checker Sedan’s commitment to exceptional
customer service extends to all its clients. Travelers
with disabilities are no exception.
This spring, representatives from Checker Sedan attended a day–long session dedicated to learning about the special needs of blind and disabled individuals. Presented by the Rochester, Michiganbased guide dog school, Leader Dogs for the Blind, the hands–on instruction was held inside the baggage claim area at Metro Detroit Airport. Trainers from the non–profit school taught participants from Checker Sedan, Northwest Airlines and the Wayne County Airport Authority how to serve as human guides.
“Human guide is one of the most widely used mobility systems worldwide for people who are blind or visually impaired,” explained Barry Stafford, the Leader Dog instructor teaching the class. “The person serving as a human guide must understand the procedures necessary to safely guide a non–visual traveler. It’s not hard to provide this service to a disabled passenger. It’s just a matter of information.”
As official provider of luxury sedan services at Detroit’s International airport, Checker Sedan strives to successfully meet the needs of all area travelers. “Attending this session provided our drivers with a greater knowledge of our diverse clients,” stated Tim Dagg, Checker Sedan’s Director of Client Relations. “Creating an in–depth understanding of the needs of visually disabled passengers can only strengthen the portfolio of special services we offer.”
As an additional service, Checker Sedan has two converted vans with a portable ramp and wheelchair tie–downs that can accommodate those who use power wheelchairs or chairs that do not fit in a trunk.
