$75,000 Donated to Brambleton High School; New Shops at Town Center
The Brambleton Group rallied support from six local builders and together donated $75,000 to Briar Woods High School.
“We wanted to give the school and the students a jump start,” explained Anthony Soave.
“These funds will help cover ancillary costs for the state-of-the-art school–including items for athletic teams and supplies for special programs, which can take years to acquire.
”We made a promise that we were creating a genuine community when we started Brambleton and this donation exemplifies our commitment to foster this community,” he added. “The home builders are as committed as we are to creating a fabulous project that is setting the bar for future development in this part of the region.”
Brambleton is a 2,000-acre, planned community in Virginia that includes more than 6,200 homes, over 400,000 sq. feet of retail, 200,000 sq. feet of office, and over 1.7 million sq. feet of industrial space. The Brambleton Town Center will include a new flagship Harris Teeter supermarket, Chevy Chase Bank and lunch and dinner eateries like California Tortilla, Scotto’s Rigatoni Grill & Subway, Caribou Coffee, Cold Stone Creamery, Hair Cuttery and a UPS Store.
Other planned features of the Town Center are a 16-screen multiplex cinema, upscale retail and fine-dining restaurants. For updates, visit us on the web at: www.brambleton.com.
Commuter Express Driver Embraces His Role with WSU Swim Team
Charter Driver Steve Wright with Commuter Express made a “splash” with the Wayne State University swimming and diving team. In February, the Detroit college’s team traveled to Marquette for its conference championship. Steve bonded with the students over the course of the long weekend. Upon winning both the men’s and women’s divisions, the excited competitors tossed Steve into the pool along with other teammates.“
Because he enjoys getting involved with his passengers, Steve is a great driver for most of our athletic team transportation,” explained Natalie Lozon, sales coordinator, “We always receive excellent reports on how supportive he is with the various groups.”
WSU’s Head Coach Sean Peters expressed how much “the team enjoyed having him as our driver over the conference championships.”
