Brambleton Lands Barnes & Noble And 16-Theatre Complex
Quality Community, Growing Retail Attracts Families
March 13, 2007, Brambleton, Loudoun County – The master-planned northern Virginia community of Brambleton has been designed around a “live, work, play” model. With new businesses coming soon, residents will have more opportunities to “play.”
Bookseller Barnes & Noble has announced plans to open a 27,000 square foot store in the second phase of Brambleton Town Center, with construction scheduled to begin in late 2007 or spring 2008. The bookstore will be the upscale retailer’s first in Loudoun County. Opening in time for summer blockbusters, Consolidated Theatres will complete its eagerly awaited 16-screen theater multiplex with all stadium seating. Retail stores also slated to open in Town Center’s second phase include Birkenstock, Classic Closets & Design, Cradle & Crayon, Edibles Incredible, and The Nest Egg. Additional retailers plan announcements later this year.
Brambleton Town Center’s completed first phase, anchored by a Harris Teeter grocery store, meets the daily convenience needs of the community’s almost 2,000 families. Constructed around a pedestrian-friendly outdoor mall, the shopping complex will also feature several restaurants with open air seating.
With zoning approval for 6,240 residential units, the award-winning development has built approximately one-third of the anticipated homes. “We expect home building to be completed by 2015,” explains Kim Adams, Brambleton’s Director of Marketing. “In addition to our Town Center, Brambleton’s 2,000 acre development also includes an 18-hole golf course; 150,000 square feet of neighborhood retail; 20,000 square feet of commercial office space; and 1,760,000 square feet of light industrial/flex space.”
With the community's growth, the Brambleton Group's corporate offices have relocated from Route 7 to a 7,000-square-foot-space within the Town Center complex.
