Brambleton Rolls Out The Red Carpet For Consolidated Theatres
The paparazzi were out in full force at last night's gala opening
July 18, 2007, The paparazzi were out in full force at last night's gala opening of the Consolidated Theatres' Fox Cinemas, currently the main attraction at Brambleton's Town Center's new retail complex.
Closed to the public for the swanky event, guests were treated to free-flowing champagne and other spirits, gourmet savories and sweets, and "celebrity" sightings, including Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Jim Carrey, Angelina Jolie, Marilyn Monroe and Oprah.
While the stars and paparazzi were fake, the excitement and buzz were real, as guests got the VIP treatment starting from the barrage of "reporters" drilling them with questions about fashion choices on the red carpet leading into the theater.
Once inside, servers carried trays of champagne and appetizers, and lines formed in front of buffet tables and makeshift bars offering complimentary drinks. On the entertainment menu later in the evening were two films of the guests' choice: "Transformers" or "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."
Since its soft opening June 22, tens of thousands of moviegoers have watched summer blockbusters at the 16- screen, 3,200-seat theater, Brambleton Marketing Director Kim Adams estimated.
"We are very excited to be here tonight for the VIP event at Brambleton for the first theater opening in a decade here in Loudoun County," Adams said. "We couldn't have done it without the people who are here tonight and their support. We look forward to thousands of people visiting the theater."
Among the crowd of more than 400 people were Supervisors Steve Snow (R-Dulles), Mick Staton (R-Sugarland Run) and Lori Waters (R-Broad Run), as well as many in the building industry who over the years have forged relationships with Brambleton, a community developed by Detroit-based Soave Enterprises.
Before the ceremonial ribbon cutting, Soave President and CEO Anthony Soave exchanged thanks and messages of appreciation with Herman Stone, president and CEO of Charlotte, NC-based Consolidated Theatres.
"It's our pleasure to be just a little part of your dream," Stone told Soave. "You have a magnificent facility here," he said, noting that the water fountain and the restaurants that will be opening in the adjoining retail complex will be drawing customers "for years to come."
