Charity Begins At Home
Brambleton, Loudoun County. (June 10, 2008) – “For years, our tag line for Brambleton has been ‘Connect with Life’,” comments Kim Adams, the development’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “Time and time again, our residents prove that this isn’t an advertising line, but a statement of fact.”
Putting weight behind Adams’ proud endorsement, ten members of Brambleton’s staff and a host of enthusiastic community residents turned out May 31 to participate in the Arthritis Foundation’s annual Arthritis Walk. Walkers selected a one or three mile route, leaving from Brambleton Town Center and winding through the community.
The walk is an annual nationwide event to raise funds and awareness to fight arthritis, one of the nation’s leading causes of disability. Arthritis affects 46 million Americans, or one out of five adults and nearly 300,000 children. In Virginia, arthritis affects more than 1.5 million people. “Our admiration goes out to all Brambleton residents who make our modern development an old-fashioned community,” says Adams. “Congratulations also go to Team Brambleton for participating in such a meaningful neighborhood effort. A total of approximately 200 walkers collected over $33,000 to donate to the Arthritis Foundation.”
