Mr. McCarthy has been the President of the Soave Transportation Group since 1996,which includes Checker Cab & Sedan and Commuter Express. Under his leadership, the transportation companies have grown their revenues and customer base and are recognized in the industry as the leading providers of safe, economical and high quality customer services.
Prior to leading the Transportation Group, Mr. McCarthy served in various operational and financial capacities at Soave Enterprises since joining the company in 1981. His most recent position was that of Treasurer.
Mr. McCarthy is actively involved in community-focused organizations and currently plays vital roles with many groups. He is Vice Chair of the Board of the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau, a member of the Board of Directors of the Detroit Metro Sports Commission, and served as a member of the Transportation Committee for SBXL, co-chairing its Vehicle-for-Hire Subcommittee. Mr. McCarthy is also a member of the Transportation Advisory Council of SEMCOG and sits on its Ann Arbor-Detroit Transportation Corridor Advisory Panel.
